The Kimchi Festival Scavenger Hunt and GFN K-Pop Contest Return!
Yes, it’s true!
We are back and discovering new parts of our beloved city, GWANGJU. The scavenger will be kicking off on Saturday, October 5th so start getting your teams together.
Groups of 4 or 5 people can enter and uncover not only a new part of the city but also make their own kimchi – all for FREE!
The Scavenger Hunt will take place at Gwangju’s Jung-oe Park, which is also home to the 2013 Biennale. The Scavenger Hunt will urge competitors to unearth all the wonders of the area in a limited time period that will culminate in a special award ceremony.
With up to win 800,000 won in cash prizes (1st place: 300,000won, 2nd place: 200,000 won, and more!), you can make kimchi, see the Design Biennale, make new friends and learn all about traditional Korean Culture.

AND DON’T FORGET: The GFN K-POP SINGING CONTEST!
GFN (Gwangju Foreign Language Network) is also hosting a K-Pop Singing Contest, specifically for foreigners residing in Gwangju and Jeollanamdo. The contest too will take place during the Gwangju World Kimchi Culture Festival of 2013.
If you want to join this contest, please email hanpd@gfn.or.kr with your name, contact information and the title of the song you want to sing. Anyone can apply and sing a Korean pop song on stage, singles or teams!
Before the contest on October 5th (Saturday), applicants will be asked to participate in an audition at GFN’s studios, so check the dates and schedules!
