Veritas: Everybody Loves Harvard

This is the image we know of Harvard. It’s the dream of every parent to have a son or daughter attend. Yet that is all it is, an image. VERITAS – which is Harvard’s motto, Latin for “truth” – is a documentary that has no interest in portraying that same facet.

MBC’s Video: A Response

In late May, Korean TV network MBC broadcast a short “news” piece titled “The Shocking Truth about Dating Foreigners”, a heavily biased, sensationalized report negatively portraying Westerners in Korea. It drew sharp criticism from the local expat community, with protest groups and petitions quickly appearing on and offline. Here Rachel Redfern contributes her own response to the video.

Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement

Arguably the most talked-about issue du jour in South Korea is The KORUS Agreement, or The U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement. Opinions vary widely on the subject, and indeed it is a highly polarizing issue for both countries.
