Heosuabi Records Releases Christmas Album 허수아비들의 겨울잡담 Small Talk With Scarecrow
Just in time for Christmas, Seoul and Masan-based하수아비 Heosuabi (Scarecrow) Records has put out their second Christmas album, cozy 12-track compilation허수아비들의 겨울잡담 Small Talk With Scarecrow.
Check out some new tunes by independent musicians across the country, including Gwangju singer and guitarist 김태승 Kim Tae-seung of folk-rock trio 김과리 Kim & Lee, who opens the album with a hearty “Merry Christmas.” Gwangju folk-punk band 어메이징 비주얼 Amazing Visual chime in with the eighth track “Home Alone,” with an accompanying music video in their signature wistfully comic style.
Country singer Kim Tae Chun, folk singer Jo Yong Ho and dance performer-activist Yamagata Tweakster have all played great sets in Gwangju within the past two years and they contribute to the album with the respective tracks “Night of the Living Scarecrow,” “My Rock n’ Roll Guitar,” and “Suck You A**hole.”
Some of us at Gwangju News have already had more than one night curled up at home with these scarecrow songs and we’re sure to be listening all the way through Christmas and the New Year. You can purchase Small Talk With Scarecrow at the Heosuabi Records Bandcamp:
