The Gandhi Katha was narrated by internationally acclaimed Speaker Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna. She is a globally renowned Gandhian recognised for her invaluable contribution to literature, social service and spreading the vision of Mahatma Gandhi.
During these unprecedented times of pandemic, when not only individuals, nations but the whole of humanity is going through a period of crisis, Dr. Radhakrishna, highlighted the ‘Crisis due to Covid-19 pandemic and the need to live in harmony with nature: The Gandhian Way’. She focused on learning from Mahatma Gandhi to cope up physically, mentally and spiritually during and after the corona-virus pandemic. She also narrated Gandhi’s ethical and moral leadership, his spiritual lifestyle, and the environmental credo.
Mahatma Gandhi’s message to the world on the vital question of health and well-being is very important. He looked at health holistically and with a comprehensive outlook that everyone needs to imbibe. Mahatma Gandhi is a role model for simple life, for living in harmony with nature. Gandhi’s entire life can be seen as an ecological treatise because he preached and acted on voluntary self-control and reduction of wants.
She highlighted the need for celebrating the Ba-Bapu 150th Birth Anniversary as Kasturba Gandhi his better-half was also born on 11th April 1869 and Mahtama Gandhi on 2nd October 1869. Kasturba Gandhi’s contribution in making ‘Mohandas’ into ‘Mahtama’ and emerging as a women Satyagrahi is commendable.
