The 14th Gwangju Biennale and the Transformation of Anne Duk Hee Jordan
This year, from April 7 to July 9, the Gwangju Biennale will host its 14th Biennale, showcasing works from 79 artists, half of which are new works that have never been exhibited previously. Of the 79 artists, the Gwangju News is fortunate to have reached Anne Duk Hee Jordan, an established artist based in Berlin who will debut a suite of interactive robots at the Biennale.
Busking World Cup
This past October, Gwangju hosted the inaugural Buskers World Cup (BWC) in what can only be described as a massive step in the right direction when compared to the ordinarily bland, tedious, and quite frankly pedestrian “festivals” that plague the ACC. Beyond providing all sorts of great entertainment, the BWC brought about a noticeable change in the ambiance of the downtown area and acted as a platform for meaningful and international cultural exchange.
ACE Fair Opens in Gwangju
This year’s 17th Annual Asia Content and Entertainment Fair opens in Gwangju on September 22, riding on Korea’s most vibrant content environment ever, with unprecedented international attention and fast-rising production budgets that allow local creators to compete on global platforms.
