Can You Cook?
At the upcoming AsiO Gusto Slow-Food Festival in Namyangju City (the first international “slow food” festival representing all of Asia and Oceania!), the good people of WWOOF Korea will be administering a cooking contest for international residents of South Korea – and they want to taste your best dish!
AsiO Gusto will be held during the first week of October. The International Residents Cooking Contest will be held on October 3rd. Here’s what you need to know.
What can you cook?
Any dish appropriate for a special event (a holiday, for instance) in your home country.
Who can join?
One or two non-Korean chefs may make the meal.
Are there prizes?
Oh yes, there are. The first-place King’s Cuisine Prize includes 500,000. The second-place Namyangju Mayor’s Prize will make you 400,000 won richer. But never fear: even if you don’t win the third-place Special Prize of 100,000 won, the festival organizers will be sending you home with 70,000 won worth of organic food.
How is the food judged?
Spectators will choose their favorite dish at the event.
When’s the deadline for entry?
August 20th! That’s not far away; you’d better hurry!
