“Warrior Monk” Cheong San passes away

Cheong San, the “warrior monk” featured in our September 2013 cover story, passed away last Wednesday. His family has not chosen to share the cause of death. His funeral service was held on Sunday.

Those who wish to pay their respects are invited to his memorial service, which will continue until Monday, February 3rd, in Gwangju at the Shinsegae Funeral Home (신세계장례식장) across from the Shinsegae Department Store behind the KB Bank in U-Square. The address is Seo-gu Nongseong-dong (광주 서구 농성동) 415-55.

In lieu of flowers, donations to his temple are requested. Donations may be transferred to the Nonghyup Bank account 301-0047-4004-91. The account holder is Dongjaam (동장암).
