Gwangju has its very own traditional Thai dance troupe. All five of the specially trained traditional Thai dancers (below) live in Gwangju and began dancing together after meeting socially in 2011.

Introducing Kimchi

Kimchi – a fermented vegetable side dish steeped in fifteen centuries’ history – is a national symbol and an essential component in any Korean meal. Prepared by adept chefs, kimchi sports an appetizing blend of seasonings, Korea’s national side-dish – though it may seem simple – is a history-rich enigma.

Artist Statement:
My art works run along strong environmental themes, and attempt to create an immersion of vision. This allows the viewer to witness the subtleties in passing of time. These are heavily influenced by the environments I find myself in every day, and attempt to recall these experiences of my memory for the viewer to share.

Restaurant Review: Cheongwon Momil

As the name suggests, Cheongwon Momil specializes in momil, and it’s always good. I’d recommend ordering that noodle dish instead of naengmyeon, at least at this restaurant chain.
