Sesame Leaf Jeon (깻잎전) How-to

Sesame leaf is one of the green vegetables which Koreans really enjoy. We eat lots of sesame leaves with meat. During holidays such as Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) and New Year’s Day, we make sesame leaf jeon. It has a really special smell and a positive effective on the body. It contains vitamins A and C, both of which can slow down the aging process. Let’s all enjoy sesame leaf jeon and have beautiful skin and a healthy body!
Ingredients
15 sesame leaves. 1/4 carrot, 1/4 young pumpkin, 1/2 a block of tofu, two eggs, a small can of tuna, 1/2 cup of flour, salt, cooking oil
Method
1. Mash the tofu. Drain the oil from the tuna. Dice the pumpkin and carrots. Put them into a bowl.
2. Add two tablespoons of flour, an egg, and little bit of salt. Mix everything together.
3. Dredge both sides of the sesame leaves in flour and stuff them with the mixture from the bowl.
4. Dip each sesame leaf package in a bowl containing a beaten egg.
5. Fry the leaf packages on an oiled pan over a low heat for a few minutes.
