  • Overview: Candlelight offers the magic of experiencing music in a multisensory way, in an inspiring atmosphere unlike that of a traditional classical concert. Surrounded by the gentle glow of candlelight – and, at times, flowers that evoke the feeling of spring in Gwangju – enjoy the works of Joe Hisaishi and timeless masterpieces by renowned composers at the Asian Culture Center.

2026 ACC × Korea National Contemporary Dance Company Regional Coexistence Project: “Choreo Connection”

  • Overview: The Korea National Contemporary Dance Company’s Choreo Connection is a project that discovers the experimental approaches and contemporary perspectives of choreographers working in regional communities.

  • Overview: Experience outstanding stage productions through vivid, high-quality screenings. The ninth presentation of 2026 features Madama Butterfly, one of Giacomo Puccini’s three great operas.

ART EXHIBITIONS                          

Impressionism: Brilliant Moments (Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, and Cézanne)

  • Dates: September 23, 2026 – February 21, 2027

  • Overview: The first major exhibition in Jeonnam-Gwangju to spotlight Impressionism. Although Impressionism initially faced fierce criticism from France’s traditional art establishment, it ultimately proved its artistic value and left an enduring legacy of masterpieces. This exhibition is the first in Jeonnam-Gwangju to present major works of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.

The Road of One Thousand and One Nights

  • Overview: An exhibition inspired by Gourmet, the beloved comic series cherished by three million readers, exploring the stories of people and life that lie beyond food.

The 2nd Gwangju Sound Festival

  • Overview: The Gwangju Sound Festival was created to support traditional Korean vocalists actively performing in the Gwangju area and to give local residents more opportunities to enjoy and experience traditional culture. Held in Gwangju, a city renowned for its artistic heritage, the festival offers a special stage where the audience can experience the depth, excitement, and charm of the five classic repertoires of regional traditional pansori in one place.
