My Taste of Gwangju!

The winter vacation was long, and I tried many things, but I wanted to share some of them with you so that you may check out other programs at the ACC or other locations in Gwangju, such as the gallery, or try these delicacies. Even if we aren’t a big shot yet, and even if we’re pissed off most of the time, we can still enjoy the little things in life.

Golden ’Taties

How can potatoes best be cooked that preserves both their flavor and nutritional value? I found baking potatoes best, using just a few simple, healthy herbs and spices to bring out their fullest flavor.

Red Lentil Protein Patties

Lentils come in many sizes and colors, and they all have their own nutritional profiles. According to a 2010 study comparing green, French green, and red lentils, red is best due to its polyphenol content. But it is also the smallest, cheapest, and usually the most commonly available. And being the smallest, it is also the quickest to cook.

The Choco Carbon Bomb Cake

This is the first in a series of delectable vegan recipes for all to enjoy while, at the same time, contributing to one’s own health and also to the healing of our environment.

Delightful, Delectable Local Cuisine: Customer-Friendly and Budget-Friendly Eatery

Whether you’re simply looking for diverse local food experiences to make the most of your journey in Gwangju or are a student searching for meaning in every nook and cranny of the CNU area, like myself, this place has got you covered with taste, atmosphere, and price.

Crescent – A Curry Story

Though Crescent is quite new in the food business, having been opened in 2020, it has become a well-known place among gourmands due to its unforgettable curry tastiness. Once discovered, it is impossible not to come back. Just try it!

Tiramitous

Situated in Yangnim-dong, Tiramitous (티라미뚜) was first introduced to me by a friend. I had no expectations of something special, since there are so many coffees hops with a solid variety of delicious desserts in and outside of Gwangju. Therefore, what could have been special about this one?

Feeling Earthy

It is located just a two-minute drive from the Chungjangsa (충장사) shrine or a ten-minute walk from the bus stop with the same name, on the left side. Its huge garden is among the attractions one can experience there. I would argue Café Earthy is basically a small park in itself rather than a mere coffee shop.
