Clement: A Bakery Café Worth Visiting

Some cafés pull you in with the view. Clement (클레망), does it with bread, desserts, and one very good cup of milk ice cream.

Clement is a well-known bakery café in Gwangju. It is known for bread and desserts made with the experience of a certified master baker, so the bakery section is a big part of the appeal. The display is packed with different choices, which makes it very easy to arrive for one thing and leave with several.

We visited as a group, and I liked that the café had plenty of space. The seating felt comfortable, and the wide layout made it easy to sit together without feeling crowded. It works well for families and larger groups too.

The café also serves a range of drinks, including coffee and fruit-based options. Reviews often mention drinks like strawberry latte and Americano, but we went in a different direction.

We had the milk ice cream. That ended up being my favorite part.

It was smooth, creamy, and milky without feeling too heavy. The flavor was simple, but that was exactly why it worked. After looking at all the breads and desserts, something cold and clean tasting felt perfect. And yes, it looked very cute too.

Clement also allows pets, which makes it more flexible for people visiting with dogs. That, combined with the large interior, makes it feel like an easy place to visit with different kinds of groups.

For me, Clement was less about finding the trendiest drink and more about enjoying a classic bakery café experience. Lots of bread. Plenty of space. And a milk ice cream that disappeared much faster than expected.

Simple, sweet, and very hard to share.
